The Fondation d’Entreprise Ricard has awarded its 2014 Prix d’Entreprise Ricard to sculptor Camille Blatrix. The award is given annually to an emerging French artist whose work has been shown in an exhibition at its space. The winner’s work is purchased by the foundation, and then donated to the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Blatrix, who is represented by Galerie Balice Hertling, won for his white metal sculpture that appeared in the exhibition “L’époque, les heures, les valeurs, l’attention,” which is still on view at the Fondation d’Entreprise Ricard and was organized by the Paris gallery and curatorial outfit castillo/corales.

Blatrix’s sculptures are currently on view at SculptureCenter in Queens, New York, in a show called “Puddle, pothole, portal.” The exhibition, co-curated by Ruba Katrib and artist Camille Henrot, focuses on the relationships between objects in shared space. One Blatrix work, to quote the show’s release, is “a singing mailbox that waits for an important letter to arrive, and once it does, you have to find the key to read it.”
